How to Take the Worry
Out of Buying New Furniture
You’ve heard it on the news and seen it in TV advertisements: car dealers offering to make their customer’s car payments if they become unemployed.
Hyundai was the first car dealer in the US to offer a Buyer’s Protection Plan for relief to those car buyers who were laid off and still had car payments due. Hyundai attributed their Buyer Protection Plan for helping garner a 14.3% sales increase in a month compared with most other car manufacturer’s double digit sales decreases.
It has been so well received, that many other car manufacturers have rolled out their own Buyer Protection Plans.
We thought that was such a good idea that we went out and found a company that was offering this to car dealers, and asked them to tailor their product to the furniture industry. They agreed!!!
The Solution for Selling Big Ticket Items in a Tough Economy
Let’s face it, all Big Ticket Items from cars to furniture to appliances and electronics have all been impacted by challenging times in the economy. When a customer doesn’t have confidence in their job or their future, they are not as likely to have enough confidence to buy or finance a larger ticket item. However, if the compassionate retailer offers the buyer a way to ease the burden of monthly payments if that buyer were to become unemployed, then the uncertainty of their financial future is conquered.
This technique has proven successful in the car industry to and it will hold true in furniture, appliances and electronics’ as well.
Now any retailer can offer customers of home furnishings products the security of making a purchase without worrying whether or not they will be employed for the length of the furniture contract.
